5 creative ways to use the product images from your photoshoot

You commissioned a photoshoot, now what?

You have a bank of beautiful, up-levelled imagery to share across your platforms. Beyond using them in the obvious places - your website and social media - I want to make sure you’re taking those product images and squeezing every ounce of value from them.

Here’s how to put your best foot forward and share your imagery with intention and purpose.

Printed Inserts for Customer Orders

You now have a whole gallery of images to update the obvious places - your website, social media, newsletters - but what about that luxurious, next level printed experience? If you’re a product based business it can be a thoughtful touch to include an A5 printed insert with either a hand-written or printed thank you note on the back. Customers love a thoughtful unboxing experience, and including a bespoke thank you card with your new imagery is one way to treat your customers to a special unboxing.

Pinterest Pins

Did you know there are 442 million active users on Pinterest and 83% have bought something based on the pins they’ve seen from brands? Pinterest is also the second biggest search engine after Google, which is mindblowing! The majority of searches are unbranded, which means people are searching for a solution to their problem, but they don’t yet have a clear idea of who they’re going to purchase from.

If you don’t have a Pinterest strategy in place, I highly recommend Rachel Emma Waring for more resources on how to get Pinterest savvy. Her free and paid-for courses are packed full of information to implement right away.

The key to creating a strategy that converts in the best ways - sales, email sign ups, web traffic - is creating over curating. To create fresh, new, exciting pins you need an array of attractive visual content to pin. I tend to shoot most of my images vertically for this reason, so you’ll have a whole catalogue of images of your products to upload to Pinterest and get people converting from the day you receive your gallery.

Press Placements & PR

When Harpers Bazaar or Stylist Magazine come calling to do a feature on your business or include you in a round-up, being ready with stunning imagery to show off your business to the best of your ability is so important. It’s great to have a variety of angles, showing your product in different set ups and use-cases so that journalists have a good selection to pick from and readers can see your product in action.

When you book a shoot with me, I’ll deliver your images in high resolution and print-ready files at 300ppi, as well as web resolution versions that are optimised for web so that they will load faster.

Investment and Sales Decks

If your business is looking for investment, professional photography can make the difference between getting the investment, or not.

An investment or sales presentation is used to sell the brand’s vision to potential investors, and depending on how big your world domination plans are, you might go through several rounds of investment-seeking. Having beautiful photography in your deck can help you stand out against the competition and bring a level of professionalism that other brands might not provide.

My photography has been used on investment decks that have helped secure funding to grow businesses and take them to the next level.

Paid Advertising

We all know that organic reach on social media is decreasing steadily in favour of paid-for adverts. Having eye-catching, professional photography to use for your paid ads is essential to drive conversions. It’s also important to have a gallery of images to pick from so that you or your agency can AB test and see which images give the best results in relation to clicks and conversions.

Now that you have a gallery of beautiful images to show off your brand, get creative with how you can use them to make your investment go further! What other ways do you use your photography? I’d love to hear.
